Embroiderers Guild of America Correspondence Course
Are you a member of EGA? July and August are the months to sign up for individual registration for my beginning temari correspondence course. If your local chapter is not organizing a group and you would like to take the course on your own, please visit EGA website to sign up as an individual.
What is so special about the course? You receive a hard copy of the text (54 pages) sent to you via US mail. Detailed directions for making three beginning temari are included. These patterns are not published any where else. I have dedicated a portion of my website to the class in case you need extra help and I am always happy to answer your questions via email. When you finish those temari, you can send them to me for evaluation. I will complete an evaluation form just for you and return your temari to you along with a certificate from EGA.
I am working on writing the next level course for EGA now. Look for it in 2010 (if I get my act together soon!).

Japan Temari Association Level 3 (Shihan, Master/Instructor) Certification
Great news from Japan!! There are three new Masters of temari in the US. Kathy Hewitt, Debi Abolt and I just received news that we passed jury for Level 3 in the JTA. Our study group worked hard for many months to fulfill the requirements. I learned so much from the experience and highly recommend it to anyone who wants to dig deeply into the art of temari and improve their skills.
Here is a link to the webpage where I describe the temari that I submitted.

Online Temari Class with the Shining Needle Society
Class began this week with 156 members! I am astonished by the turnout and thrilled to be able in introduce my favorite embroidery to so many beginners who live all over the world. The class is off to a great start with students already busy at work making their very first temari from the kits that I sent and posting questions and sharing photos and experiences in the classroom Yahoo group. Many thanks to Kate and Marie-Therese of the Shining Needle Society for working hard behind the scenes to organize the class and keep us running smoothly!
