Santa temari is more than just a simple pattern. Eleven pages of tips, diagrams and techniques on how to stitch this adorable Christmas ornament from start to finish. The pattern is written for the absolute beginner. If you have never made a temari ball, this pattern outlines the best way to make a rattle for inside the ball, wrap the ball, use a paper template pattern to stitch the red star, and complete the embroidery stitches for Santa's features and outfit. The pattern ends with how to make a simple hanger or a twisted cord hanger.
Note: this temari ball is NOT divided and marked with guidelines, making it easier than most.

Buckles and Bands is another beginner temari pattern. 7 pages of full color directions teach you the best (and fastest!) way to make a round temari ball from scratch. Full instructions on marking a simple 4-division and stitching the design complete this pattern.

Maritime Stars is a temari that I taught at EGA National Seminar Golden Gala. It is for intermediate stitchers and DOES NOT include marking instructions. Based on a combination 8-division, you stitch kiku herringbone designs and then fill in the negative space with swirl stitching. To learn how to mark a combination 8-division, see my book Japanese Temari, A Colorful Spin on an Ancient Craft.
Martime Stars glow on a black background This pattern is for the advanced beginner temari stitcher. 10 pages of full color photos and diagrams detail the step-by-step directions.
