of Japan New Fine Art” and the creation of beautiful temari to represent
characters in traditional Japanese novels and plays. “Noda, the author,
boldly expressed ladies characters whose personalities were quite different
from one another as designs of Japanese traditional Gotenmari (Japanese
artistic ball) and Takashi Majima, a famous cameraman, shot them at his
unique angle.”
Each design has a description in English which describes
the subject. There are no patterns or diagrams, but many lovely photos
of unique temari.
