Grandmother Star Temari
This design is a more advanced version of the temari, Mema is a Star, that I taught in Louisville at the EGA National Seminar, 2008. I already had a similar submission stitched on a C10 (Mitsubishi Stars) and my JTA mentor suggested stitching "Mema" on a 32 centers temari. Of course, I had to call her "Grandmother!"
This is a fun design to stitch. Light purple pentagons and hexagons interlock over the ball. Green continuous line stitching weaves its way over them. A five or six petal kiku herringbone design fills each center.
