Mark a Japanese Temari with 32 Centers
White pins are the original C10 centers. Green pins are in the middle of the 6-part triangles. Keep all these in place until you are done. |
Quicker way to place the 1/3 and 2/3 "magic number" pins. Cut a paper strip the length of the "magic number". Fold in thirds and notch. Pin to ball between centers and place pins in notches. Repeat all over the ball. |
This ball has all the pins in place for the 32 centers marking. |
Blue thread follows the path where you would stitch a black star. Take stitches at the 5 star points through the intersection already there. Lift up the pin to stitch, then replace the pin. Run thread to outside of the 5 yellow pins between stitches. Tack intersections at yellow pins (and remove yellow pins) before moving on to the next pentagon. Complete this same star in each pentagon. When all 12 threads pass through green pin area, take a minute to tack the center and make it look nice. |
