Morning Glory Temari Class for Beginners

Morning Glory

Newbies! This class is for you - extremely detailed instructions, full kit with all the right ingredients to make three temari balls (or more), and membership to a group classroom where you can ask questions, share stories, and post pictures. The classroom is ready and waiting for you. It's open now. Come on in and stay as long as you like!

Morning Glory is a 3 inch diameter temari made with traditional ingredients. We’ll make a bell box to put inside the core of rice hulls. Then we’ll wrap the core with soft baby yarn and overlock thread to create the surface for stitching. The ball is marked in a simple 8-division by folding a strip of paper into 8 sections and using it as a guide. No math!

You will learn the techniques for wrapping bands of thread around the ball and stitching a herringbone design through keeper pins. We’ll finish up by making a hanger and tassel.

TWO more patterns are included with plenty of supplies to make all three temari. Use these two extra patterns to make smaller, coordinating temari to practice and reinforce your new stitching techniques.

Dates: Join anytime. The classroom is open.
