International Temari Appreciation Day is October 22!

For the first time ever, stitchers from all over the world are participating to make a day of temari into a truly an international event. Rebecca has asked for photos with captions telling how you shared temari. Send them to her through the web link above or upload them directly to the group Flickr site.

To kick thing off in our TemariChallenge Yahoo group, we are designing a temari together! Seven stitchers will take turns adding something new and we will all stitch along. When we are done, the pattern will be shared on the ITAD blog.

Rebecca is giving away a package of temari goodies. She will draw names from those who post photos to the Flickr site.

I will also have a giveaway - a kit to make the ball that we design on TemariChallenge. I will ask Rebecca to draw another name from those who post to the Flickr site.

Participating is as easy as sharing your stitching with your neighbor, a friend, or a guild member. Snap a photo and send it off.  Do you have a blog? Make the post on October 22 all about temari. Are you a member of a stitching guild? In a town near me, the EGA gals and I set up a display at a library and will give a demonstration together later in the month. There are lots of ways to share. Hang one on your mailbox; take a basket of temari to the grocery store while you shop and see how many comments you get; share with a class at school.

Most of all, just have fun with it. Thanks, Rebecca, for heading up ITAD!
